"EVENING WAVES absorbs the enraptured viewer who readily softens and dissolves into this sumptuous paradise. A fluid appearance extends beyond the water itself merging all the elements gracefully into one blissful, liquid material and experience to sink into. Colour is utilized in an unnatural and exaggerated manner to advance and establish a dreamy and heavenly effect without crossing the boundary into the unfamiliar and experimental. The green, active water is delineated by the horizon and its diagonal shoreline cutting a geometric slice out of the glowing, golden sand and sky. The oppositional, dark foreground supplies additional form and an intimation that nightfall is hovering and soon the perfect picture will be transformed and eventually wiped away. This sense of movement and transience enforces gratitude and indulgence in this restorative and magical painting."
