Gallery Ring is an online space devoted to the celebration and promotion of art.
It was formed in 2017 to create opportunities for artists — from emerging to established — to showcase their work on an international platform, to win awards and titles, to increase their online presence, expand their exposure and to build their curriculum vitaes.
Gallery Ring conducts juried, art contests and exhibitions here on this site.
Many awards and titles are distributed and all winners are prominently featured and promoted in the official e-newsletter, the website and Instagram --- top winners also receive a special, digital Award Page announcing the news which can be used for self-promotion on websites, clientele newsletters, portfolios and social media outlets.
Artists who participate can gain invaluable experience of the juried exhibition system prevalent in the art world. This can lead to the development of a professional presentation of their work, which is vital for meeting the standard required by art institutions beyond this platform. Artists can learn about the responsibilities upon them as entrants, the protocol of the submission process and what to expect in return. They can obtain insight from tracking the response and recognition their work receives over time and gauge its success as it sits alongside work from a variety of artists in the exhibitions. They can find inspiration by meeting the challenge of the given themes each month, by creating a healthy competition against themselves with each successive submission and by connecting with an established community of artists. Gallery Ring is a vehicle which artists can use to build confidence and stature, to form their artistic identities and presence, to make original contributions and to increase the visibility and value of their work.

- winners are automatically entered into the ARTISTS OF THE YEAR Event
3. ARTISTS OF THE YEAR Event
- held once a year
- complimentary and by invitation only
- all ARTIST OF THE MONTH winners are displayed in an exhibition on this site
- four award titles are available and distributed
(RUBY, SAPPHIRE, EMERALD and CRYSTAL ARTISTS OF THE YEAR are named)
- the four winners receive a special feature and interview
4. BEST IN SHOW Event
- held once a year
- complimentary and by invitation only
- all BEST IN SHOW artworks of the year are displayed in an exhibition on this site
- each artist is invited to submit two additional artworks, which create a new contest within the event
- three awards are available and distributed

5. the SPRING COUNTDOWN Show
- offered once a year
- a group show is built by revealing one artwork each day counting down from the beginning of March
until the first day of Spring and the first place winner
- approximately 10 OFFICIAL SELECTIONS are named
- 10th to 5th place are CRYSTAL Award winners
- 4th place is the SAPPHIRE Award winner
- 3rd place is the EMERALD Award winner
- 2nd place is the RUBY Award winner
- 1st place is the DIAMOND Award winner
6. RED, BLUE and GREEN Contests
- created in honour and celebration of the dazzling RUBY, SAPPHIRE
and EMERALD Awards exclusive to Gallery Ring
- each one is offered once a year
- artwork must be the specified colour for each contest
- the only time more than one RUBY, SAPPHIRE or EMERALD Award is offered in a single contest
- other awards are available and distributed
7. PASTEL & COLOURED PENCIL Contest
- offered once a year
- artwork must be made using pastel and/or coloured pencil
- top winner receives an interview posted at the front of the show
- many awards are available and distributed
8. The HOLIDAY ADVENT Show
- offered once a year
- complimentary
- a group show is built by revealing one artwork each day
counting down from December 1st to December 24th
- 17 Official Selections are named
- 7th to 5th place are the Crystal Snowflake Award winners
- 4th place is the Emerald Snowflake Award winner
- 3rd place is the Ruby Snowflake Award winner
- 2nd place is the Sapphire Snowflake Award winner
- 1st place is the Diamond Snowflake Award winner
- all artists are entered into a draw to win one of ten Free-Entry Vouchers
AWARDS
Aside from "Best in Show, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald", all awards are only bestowed as merited. The number is dependent on how many submitted artworks are worthy of the respective distinction therefore the rest of the awards listed below are always available but may not be presented each time. This allows the contest to focus on the artistic merit of individual artworks independently of each other hence making room for the inclusion of a variety of styles and media that are inherently difficult to compare.
*BEST IN SHOW
- reserved for the single artwork that exhibits skillful execution plus artistic and
creative supremacy over the rest in the interpretation of the specific theme
THE WINNER RECEIVES:
- a free-submission voucher valid for a future, "Theme" show to be used at the artist's discretion
- it does not have a cash value
- a digital Award Certificate
- a special Award Page which announces the news and is ideal for use in an artist portfolio
and for sharing on social media and websites
- includes an invitation to participate (free of charge) in the annual
"Best In Show Event" which takes place every January
- includes Instagram promotion during the event and again during the "Best In Show Event"
*GOLDEN TRIO AWARD
- reserved for the artist who exhibits skillful execution plus artistic and creative mastery
in the interpretation of the specific theme across THREE artworks in a single submission
— they must be cohesive and similar in an obvious, visual manner as if part of a mini-series.
THE WINNER RECEIVES:
- a digital Award Certificate
- a special Award Page which announces the news and is ideal for
use in an artist portfolio and for sharing on social media and websites
- includes Instagram promotion during the event
*DIAMOND AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
- reserved for high-caliber artworks that demonstrate a solid mastery of skill
and provide an outstanding and arresting, overall impact and impression that surpasses expectations
THE WINNER RECEIVES:
- a digital Award Certificate
- a special Award Page which announces the news and is ideal for use
in an artist portfolio and for sharing on social media and websites
- includes Instagram promotion during the event
*RUBY, SAPPHIRE AND EMERALD AWARDS
- reserved for the top three, outstanding artworks of extremely high quality
(after the awards listed above)
- do not indicate any superiority over each other such as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place
but rather they are equal but different
- each jewel has its own distinctive personality and brilliance which is matched
to the artwork that is most suited to it in character, mood and presence
- are equal and listed in random order
- maximum of one of each is awarded per show

- reserved for artworks that demonstrate strong artistic skills combined
with a creative sensibility that results in powerful, exciting and interesting compositions

Gallery Ring promises an unbiased and fair selection process so deserving artists
can be rightfully recognised and honoured for their talent.
Gallery Ring adheres to the strictest code of ethical jurying.
Aside from Best in Show, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, awards are bestowed only as merited.
With this practice Gallery Ring maintains the value and integrity of the accolade
so the artist can trust his or her achievement is well-deserved and worthy of praise.
