THE HOLIDAY ADVENT SHOW
DECEMBER 2025

1ST PLACE DIAMOND SNOWFLAKE AWARD
DECEMBER 24TH

ANNITA APOSTOLIDOU PLATIS
* THE NUTCRACKER'S MUSE *
Mixed media digital collage

"The Nutcracker’s Muse, part of my ongoing “The Seasons” – Special Edition, represents my interpretation of winter as a space where story, ritual and imagination intersect. I reimagine the iconic Nutcracker not as a protagonist, but as a guardian spirit perched above the mind of his muse. The central figure embodies the quiet intensity of the season—ornamental, dreamy and contemplative—surrounded by objects that echo memory, festivity and wonder. Winter, for me, is a moment of inner listening: a season that invites reflection, intuition and the quiet magic of stories we carry from childhood into adulthood."
— ANNITA APOSTOLIDOU PLATIS

2ND PLACE RUBY SNOWFLAKE AWARD
DECEMBER 23RD

LIANE BEDARD
* DECORATIONS FOR DACHSHUNDS *
Transparent watercolour

"I have long had a love affair with transparent watercolour.  The magic of building up colour while maintaining luminosity thrills me and this slow layering process, combined with detailed drawing is my meditation.  I am interested in exploring the play of sunlight and the patterns it creates in everyday life.  By focusing on capturing the transient sunshine, particularly in early morning or late afternoon, compelling compositions are found and I am inspired to pay tribute to these fleeting moments."
— LIANE BEDARD

3RD PLACE EMERALD SNOWFLAKE AWARD
DECEMBER 22ND

KATE GREENWAY
* VISIONS OF SUGARPLUMS (AND MICE) *
Watercolour

"We all have our own holiday dreams and aspirations, even this cozy cat snuggled in a wool sock and ready for Santa's visit.  Wishing everyone a safe, happy and warm festive season with all you love." — KATE GREENWAY

4TH PLACE SAPPHIRE SNOWFLAKE AWARD
DECEMBER 21ST

VICTOR TOROK
* OUT IN FRONT *
Photography

"My photography explores the relationship between place, memory, and the quiet details that shape human experience. I’m drawn to moments that often go unnoticed—subtle gestures, fleeting light, and the textures of everyday life. Through a minimalist approach, I aim to create images that feel both intimate and spacious, inviting viewers to slow down and look more closely. Each photograph is an attempt to preserve a moment of clarity within the constant movement of the world."
— VICTOR TOROK
